Rev. Charles R. Hughes

District Superintendent

chuck@thealliancesoutheast.org

Chuck Hughes was born in Orlando, Florida, where his parents belonged to First Alliance Church and later became a part of the Fort Gatlin plant.  While attending the University of Central Florida, he sensed a clear call to pastoral ministry.  He earned his Master of Divinity degree from Columbia Biblical Seminary at Columbia International University in South Carolina, where he met Dale Morill, who he soon married.

Their ministry together began in 1981 as church planters at the Gateway Alliance Church in Plymouth, New Hampshire.  Four years later, they came back to Florida to pastor the Punta Gorda Alliance Church, and later the Alliance Church of Zephyrhills.  After fourteen years of pastoral ministry, Chuck was invited to become the Assistant to the Superintendent/Church Planting Director of The Alliance Southeast.  Six years later, he was elected the District Superintendent.

Re-elected District Superintendent in September 2014, Chuck oversees the district churches and official workers, with a passion for healthy pastors leading healthy churches.  He also is the Regional Leader for the Central and Southwest Florida regions.

Harris has served in three churches over thirty years: as a church planter in Oak Harbor, Ohio, and as a senior pastor in Reynoldsburg, Ohio and at New Life Alliance Church in West Palm Beach, Florida.  He has studied at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Charlotte, North Carolina.  He became the Assistant District Superintendent in March of 2006.

Harris and Katrina have three married sons, Matt and Becca, Mark and Stacie, and Jon and Rachel, and ten wonderful grandchildren.
