Renew the City 2018

Please mark your calendars for Renew the City 2018.  You are invited to help us reach the community in North Miami in the name of Jesus, through love and service.

Last April, over 200 volunteers came to Miami to help a local public school called Benjamin Franklin K-8 Center.  The impact was not limited to painting projects and yard clean up.  Lives were touched as we put love into action and served that community.  Along with this, the principle said that his maintenance crew and staff have taken greater pride in their facility, and that directly affects the children.

We recently sat down with Principle Laguerre and he said he would love to work together again next year, but this time he wants more of the faculty and children involved. Then he said there is another public school that is much worse.  He asked if we could help that school and if there are enough workers that we could also do some small projects at his school.  I was amazed that he was thinking of someone else and putting them first.  We will be meeting with the Principle of Miami Park Elementary School soon to see how we can help and if we have enough participants, we will be able to double our impact.

For those of you who participated in the last RTC event, Thank You for helping us advance this key relationship in North Miami.  Since then, we have been able to pray with Dr. Laguerre and talk with him about Jesus.  He has also shared about the day-to-day struggles of his students.  We have recently started planning how we can start a Bible Club at the school, which would have to be initiated by a student.  Please pray that God will move a student to start this Bible Club, and that many children will hear about Jesus through it.  Again, thank you for your partnership with us to reach and Renew the City in the name of Jesus.  We hope you’ll join us on April 14th, 2018!!  More details to come……

Group Trip Info for Envision Miami:

Envision Miami exists to make disciples.  This happens through partnerships with local churches and other urban ministries, to help reach their communities for Christ.  By working outside the four walls of the church, we hope to attract people to the inside, so they can explore Christianity for themselves.  Your involvement, as a short-term mission team, is vital to the success of this ministry in Miami.

As a mission worker in Miami, you will be serving in a cross-cultural setting.  Below we've listed what a typical trip will look like. Please note that this is a general schedule and may change based on the activities and needs of the church and community we are serving.
